Beyond Wellness Culture

Helping overwhelmed women rebuild trust with the body God designed.

You do not need another health podcast telling you what to eat, what to take, what to track, or what you should be worried about next.

Beyond Wellness Culture is a place to understand your body, question the fear underneath so much health advice, and learn how to care for yourself with more confidence, discernment, and peace.

01 · What this show is

Health should support your life, not consume it.

Maybe you care deeply about your health.

You listen to the experts.
You read the research.
You pay attention to what your body is doing.

But the more information you take in, the harder it can become to know what actually deserves your attention.

That is what we talk about here.

Not how to become better at following health rules. How to understand the body God designed without letting fear run the relationship.

02 · What you’ll hear

Conversations about the things wellness culture makes
complicated.

Episodes explore things like:

✱

Where fear can disguise itself as being responsible or proactive.

✱

How your body communicates without turning every signal into something to panic about.

✱

Why more information does not always create more confidence.

✱

The physiology behind things like fatigue, digestion, hormones, stress, sleep, and other body signals.

✱

What faith, stewardship, surrender, and God’s design change about the way we approach health.

✱

How to use doctors, supplements, testing, research, and other tools without outsourcing your relationship with your body.

✱

Stories from women, practitioners, and experts who help us rethink what caring for our health can look like.

✱

What changes when you stop needing certainty before you make a decision.

03 · Understanding your body

Your body is communicating.

That does not mean every symptom has one hidden meaning you need to figure out. It means your body is constantly taking in information, adapting, and responding.

On the podcast, we talk about physiology and body signals in a way that helps you get curious instead of more afraid.

The goal is not
“Oh no. What does this mean?”
It is
“Interesting. What am I noticing?”

Because understanding your body should make you more connected to it, not more vigilant about it.

04 · Fear and wellness culture

The problem isn’t wellness.

Supplements are not the problem.
Testing is not the problem.
Functional medicine is not the problem.
Tracking is not the problem.
Health experts are not the problem.
Red light therapy is not the problem.
Continuous glucose monitors are not the problem.
Cold plunges are not the problem.

Fear can use any of them.

That is one of the conversations we keep coming back to on Beyond Wellness Culture:

Am I using this from wisdom?
Or am I reacting from fear?

The difference matters.

05 · Where this goes

What does it look like when health gets quieter?

You hear a new health claim without immediately changing what you are doing.
You notice something in your body without spending the next hour researching it.
You can hear two experts disagree and remain okay.
You can try something, see how your body responds, & change your mind if you need to.
You can ask for help without handing over every decision.
You can care deeply about your health without thinking about it all day.

That is the direction of this podcast.

Less fear.
More understanding.
More trust.
More peace.

06 · Meet your host

Dr. Brook

Dr. Brook Sheehan is a Doctor of Chiropractic, functional health practitioner, creator of bodyOS, and recovering healtholic.

After years of studying health, practicing clinically, and chasing answers in her own life, she realized something was missing.

She had learned a lot about the body.
She had not learned how to have a relationship with it.

Today, she helps women understand and respond to the body God designed without turning health into another thing they have to control perfectly.

Her work brings together clinical experience, an understanding of how the body communicates, faith, and the lived experience of finding another way to care.

07 · The mission

Why Beyond Wellness Culture?

Because women are surrounded by more health information than ever. And more information has not necessarily made us more peaceful.

This podcast exists to help turn down some of that noise.

✱

To expose where fear may be masquerading as wisdom.

✱

To teach you something useful about the body God designed.

✱

To give you a picture of what health can feel like when certainty stops being the goal.

✱

And to remind you that you do not have to hand your body over to the loudest voice in the room.

You can learn her language.
